The world has changed and events are unfolding so fast that I think we as humanity have not realized it yet. What was a new disease on the other side of the world has ramped up and charged across almost every country. China and Italy have locked down 60 million people in their homes. Unfortunately America had time to prepare and have plans in place but it seems like they thought it couldn't happen here. Where Korea is currently testing 10,000 people a day, the US has completed 5,000 tests IN 60 DAYS! The stock market crashed and how are all those people in lockdown paying for their food if they can't work?
History will not look kindly on this and because non science is the new norm especially from those in power, bad information is king.
I thought at first there was a huge crazy over reaction, for as others are now mentioning, the flu kills more people each day than Convid-19 has total in the US. Now it seems a more virulent strain of virus, and is so highly contagious, but the weak, old and poor in health are most susceptible.
All of this is relevant to me as I have a very big vacation coming up next week and all of that looks like it could be in danger. I also had the most amazing cruise planned for April... 21 days- New York/Seattle through the Panama Canal at a steal because I booked last October. Now that ships are floating petri dishes and everyone I know is hucking me to cancel, that joy looks gone also. Several ships with two Princess ones being the most notorious have been blocked from ports and as you might imagine, a hotbed of infection.
So the only thing to do until I know what is happening to my life personally is to journal. I still fill out my planner religiously but since nothing is in my own control it seems futile.
This is a much softer and pale kit than my usual in-your-face style but it has grown on me and I really like it. Probably because it is rather calming it works but there you go. It is from Wild Summer Designs, who I have used several times in the past.
I love this Moxy Mermaid kit- "Buddha Zen", printed on that buttery soft premium matte. Feels so good to write on! This was last week's spread, when my trip was only a little in danger and I actually wrote vacation involved things in it. I needed all the calm I could get.
Nothing could be more Spring like than this gorgeous pink layout. Hmmm, I think on this week, Singapore had 128 cases and had closed their borders to flights from China, Thailand, Korea. I really should have been documenting each day but just like real life, you don't realize it is happening in the now.
Here's a card I am pretty happy with-makes me think of Naples and all those lemons. The current card style seems to have gotten away from pretty papers which I miss.
Last photo of the day, this is a fun card for realtors or just to wish a friend welcome to their new home. I sell these on eBay and also make lots for my realtor son. It's not an easy card but I like it. My next post will probably advise that we are all in lockdown and/or I either made it on my trip or pulled out my hair. It is a doozy- Here to Amsterdam, then catch Emirates Biz class to Singapore, then 4 days in Dubai. Nothing I haven't done, but going with number one son who picked this trip. We Shall See if the travel gods are willing....
